NEWSLETTER: Spring 2017
Winter has left and Spring has arrived in Middle Tennessee...everything is blooming with new life! I am so excited as I prepared for my trip to Accra Ghana (Africa) in May. Please pray for the Team before, during and after this trip and provide and prepare the way for the next one!
This Winter I have been working to publish a book, actually 2 books, related to Little While Ministries. A new friend, Cheryl, has been transcribing and formatting and Jan is editing. Please keep me/us in your prayers. I am a speaker not a writer so this is hard for me.
We had the opportunity recently to attend the 80th birthday of an old friend whose family has been dear to our hearts for many years both in Texas and here in Tennessee. It was a great stroll down memory lane. Something happened at the party that blessed my heart and revealed yet again how good and faithful God is. A couple from our past came up to me and gave me a card. "What, it's not my birthday" I said and they laughed and shared a story. They told me that many years ago when I was their pastor, they came to me as new baby Christians to ask if they could get their tithe back as they were having financial difficulties. We chatted about that for a bit and as they tell it, I told them I couldn't return the tithe but I would provide for their need and did so. They went on to say how good God had been to them through the years and how he had blessed them financially and how they just wanted to pay it forward. God had laid me on their hearts and they didn't really even know why or know about the international part of Little While Ministries; they were just being obedient to God's leading. Out of that card fell a sizable check which enabled me to purchase my ticket. God is so Good! As I have been teaching a study at church on Sowing and Reaping, it reinforced to me again how important it is to sow good seed. We may not reap right away but in due season. Friend, always be busy sowing good seed!
Lastly, this Winter I had a few health scares that weighed heavily on me and kind of got to me mentally. Some tests were taken and revealed no serious illness, I'm just getting old! But not too old yet to keep me from going and doing what God leads me to do through Little While Ministries.
